Junior - Minutes

Junior Section Council Meeting and Battalion A.G.M held on Wednesday 11th May 2011 in Joymount Presbyterian Church Halls, Carrickfergus at 7.30p.m.

The Battalion President, Mr Drew Buchanan MBE, welcomed everyone to Joymount and thanked everyone for attending.

The Councils then met to discuss their respective business.

JUNIOR SECTION COUNCIL MEETING

Present:-David Hoy 1st Kilbride, Susan Fetherston 2nd Ballyclare, Jacque Kane 4th Carrickfergus, Gavin Patrick 1st Ballyclare, Greg Coates 7th Carrickfergus, Wesley Magill 1st Larne and Gillian Armstrong 8th Carrickfergus.

Apologies were received from: - Neill McAdoo 1st Ballylinney, Gavin Watt 1st Greenisland and Lorraine Bell 1st Raloo.

David Hoy opened the meeting and welcomed both Jacque Kane and Gavin Patrick as this was their first attendance at Council meetings.

QUIZ KIDS

Gillian advised that a venue was required for Quiz Kids which was to be held on either Friday 7th Oct or Saturday 8th Oct 2011 and that the Ballyclare area was due to host. Gavin Patrick advised 1st Ballyclare would host.

Closing date for entry, via Rathmore, is 19th September 2011. This had been discussed on 9th Feb. 2011 that Rathmore will accept a block Battalion entry. Council Secretary to action this in August as some companied may only be returning by closing date.

Quiz Night

This will be held in 1st Greenisland on Sunday 4th December 2011. Thanks to Gavin Watt for arranging.

After a brief discussion it was agreed that the usual competitions should be held in the new session.

These are to be arranged. Thanks to everyone who held or helped with the competitions in the session just ended.

Congratulations to 1st Larne who won the Quiz Kids area heat, the 5-a-side football, the Figure Marching and the uni-hoc competitions. Also congratulations to 1st Carrickfergus who won the area heat of the NID Stool Ball competition.

ELECTION OF OFFICE BEARERS

David Hoy declared all the seats vacant.

Chairperson - Jacque Kane proposed re-election, all present agreed and David Hoy accepted.

Vice Chairperson - It was agreed that Gregory Moore should be re-elected. (Gillian will contact Gregory to confirm)

Secretary - All agreed re-election and Gillian accepted.

Rep. to Batt Exe - re-election of post was agreed by all and Gillian accepted.

Rep. to NID - Gillian Armstrong proposed Wesley Magill remain and this was seconded by David Hoy, Wesley did accept.

Dates for the next meetings to be arranged.

There being no further business the meeting was closed and everyone attended the Battalion AGM.
