B Training matters Skills training for Ballyclare was completed satisfactorily and next one would be in Carrickfergus area in late January/early February. We had not been able to run the non-residential YLT course in Carrickfergus due to only a few signing up despite the interest previously shown.
C Sports programme The Battalion sports programme was going well and it was hoped that the current programme, with dates and venues to be similar to this year, could be repeated next year. It was noted that there had been a clash of dates with the sports programme and the training programme and both convenors will be asked to try to liaise so that clashes do not occur.
D C.E. Exam and Battalion Church Parade. The Secretary enquired as to how many companies present would be entering the C.E. Exam and also asking those present to put the date of the Battalion Church Parade into their diaries and make a firm intention to be present on Sunday 27th March 2011 in Larne. Comment was made that the Londonderry Battalion had moved their Church Parade to October when everyone was engaged in their Company programme and had a much better attendance. The Executive would look into this.
E Any other business (1) Michael McConkey reminded the meeting that the closing date for applications for Boys and Officers to join the Team India project was the 4th December 2010. (2) Discussion on the development of the resource area of the Battalion website and the need to put display ideas into the site to be able to enter that area which would be password protected. It was also requested that badge-work ideas should also have an area within the resource section of the website.
