Company - Minutes
11th September, 2007 in 6th Carrickfergus Church Halls
1. Opening. Mr. Alan Miles, Battalion Vice President, occupied the chair and conducted our opening devotions.
2. Attendance and Apologies. 13 Officers representing 7 Companies were present. Apologies were recorded in the attendance book.
3. Minute of previous meeting. The Minute of the previous meeting was read, confirmed and signed.
4. Drill Committee. The Battalion Executive had discussed the feedback received from a meeting with Captain and Drill officer of 3rd Carrickfergus and the Secretary and Ken Hogg. The NID Executive had also discussed the matter and had requested an apology from 3rd Carrickfergus to the NID and also our Battalion Secretary. The Executive have to uphold Brigade Constitution and Regulations and had therefore made the following recommendation for endorsement at this meeting. No Company shall be permitted to enter the Squad Drill competition unless the uniform conforms to that described in the Brigade Constitution and Regulations. Uniform marking will be an integral part of the competition. The Chairman put this to the meeting and it was agreed unanimously.
5. Training Committee. Hosts are required for the Leadership 3 course for Nov 07 and Feb 08. Officers should make Boys aware that they are required to attend both nights. A question was asked regarding holding the YLT on evenings . Executive would enquire if we could offer Church halls for a period of 4 weeks.
6. Recreation Committee.
The plan for the forthcoming session is almost complete and will be emailed to companies very soon. The committee would appreciate feedback from companies as to how the programme is being received by Boys. A host is needed for the Table Tennis competition.
7. 40th Anniversary Celebrations. CS Outreach plans were well advanced and it now requires the Officers to sell this important event to the Boys. The Carrickfergus community event companies are requested to attend a meeting on 15th October in Holy Trinity Church to finalise the programme.
8. Any Other Business There will be a meeting of those Officers who are interested in taking Boys on the proposed Romania project in Ballylinney Church Halls on 27th September. The age limit for the Boys is 16+. Any Officer who had not received a Battalion handbook was asked to contact Drew Buchanan. It is also available on the Battalion website. It was agreed that the retiring collection at the Dedication Service would go towards our overseas project.
9. Benediction There being no further business the Chairman closed the meeting with prayer.
