Anchor Boys - Minutes

Tuesday 15th November 2011

Present: As noted in the Sign-in Book.

Apologies: None were received.

Margaret McAdoo opened the meeting in prayer. She welcomed everyone and noted that there were several new faces which was lovely to see.

Margaret informed all that the section meetings were now just once a year for training and that the meeting in April will be a social event. This year it is to be an inter company quiz night.

Fun & Games: The Battalion heat of the fun & games is to be held on Friday 25th November in 1st Ballylinney church halls. To date the following companies have indicated that they will be entering a team: 1st Ballylinney 8th Carrickfergus 1st Ralloo 1st Ballynure 1st Kilbride 1st Ballyclare - 2 teams 2nd Carrickfergus

Margaret will provide the equipment but each Company needs to bring at least 2 officers (1 to stay with each team and 1 to host a game).

The Northern Ireland final will be held on 28th January 2012 in Milltown Parish Church halls.

Joint Quiz Night: The Quiz Night this year will be held in 1st Greenisland on 4th December at 3pm. It was noted that due to limited parking it may be possible to park at Greenisland Golf club. Gillian Armstrong was investigating this and will let everyone know the outcome. The collection this year will be going to the Children's Hospice.

A new rota is being devised which will mean that each company will be required to host the Quiz Night only once in every 23 years.

Colouring Competition: A discussion was held regarding the Colouring Competition. Any entries this year are to be with Margaret by Monday 5th December.

After some discussion it was proposed that it may be better for East Antrim Battalion to hold their own competition as the Northern Ireland competition was unimaginative. This is to be discussed further.

Any Other Business: None.

The meeting closed in prayer
