East Antrim Battalion raise vital funds for Autism NI

The East Antrim Battalion Boy's Brigade has made a very special cheque presentation to Autism NI, Northern Ireland's Autism Charity. The Battalion managed to raise £325 at its annual Church Service.
Drew Buchanan, Treasurer of the East Antrim Battalion states, 'We had chosen Autism NI as our Charity of Choice as we felt it was important to raise as much publicity and support as we could in relation to this hidden disability. There are still many people in our province who are unaware of what Autism Spectrum Disorder is and also the implications and effects it has on family life. Therefore we hope that through this money we have raised, Autism NI will continue to provide support and practical help to the 20,000 people currently affected by the disability.'
Kerry Boyd, Fundraising and Marketing Manager for Autism NI comments, 'We are very grateful to the Boy's Brigade for this great fundraising effort which will support Autism NI's vital services which include a parent support network, training and education courses, developmental research and lobbying for a Northern Ireland Autism Act.'
