11 A Side Football

The Battalion won 5-1 in the inter-battalion football competition.

Goals came from Curtis Bell (7th Carrick) and Stuart Carlisle (8th Carrick) to put us 2-0 up.

Down Battalion scored a penalty just before half time and it was close for much of the second half until a couple of changes gave us the advantage.

Jonny Hodge (4th Carrick) scored our third. Matthew McIlfatrick (7th Carrick0 scored the fourth. Both Jonny and Matthew were subs. Jonny Hodge got the fifth goal also with a great angled drive.

It was a super performance by the boys with Curtis Bell 7th Carrick being named as man of the match with an outstanding personal performance.

Robert Penney was referee and we wish to thank him for his time and expertise offered to the Boys Brigade.

The final is this Thurs at Dixon Park Ballyclare. 7pm kick off.
